Before you read what the Lord gave me this morning, I have exciting news to share. Something brand new is coming from Mim's Pickety Press Publishing. Something you've never seen before . . . something moving . . . something sweet . . . something to share with the kids in your life!
I can't tell you what it is yet, but be watching! I'll give a few more clues in the next few days. The launch is October 10th.
In the meantime, here's a little encouragement for your soul:
Did you know there are two levels of faith?
Level One: The faith that comes by hearing about Jesus through the word of another.
Just like the Samaritan women who went back to her village and told her friend about her encounter with Jesus at the well. Many believed what she said and then asked Him to stay a few days.
Level Two: Hearing from Jesus for yourself.
After spending time with Him themselves, they said to the women, "Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world." (4:42)
People can hear about Jesus their whole lives and still not know Him. They only know about Him. Until we learn from Him directly and the Holy Spirit moves upon our hearts, we only have the level one kind of faith. Jesus alone controls the light switch of revelation.
With all that's going on in the world today, we need the Level Two kind of faith. That comes from spending time with Him personally. We can't live off the faith of another. This kind of faith comes from lots and lots of time in His Word, and prayer. It's all about personal relationship.
This is nothing new to most of my readers, but we can always stand to be reminded.
Dear Lord, please ignite our personal relationship with You. Breathe upon us, Lord. Turn up the fire. We hunger for more of You. In Jesus name, Amen
The leaves are turning and our eyes are lifted to the beauty of the trees.
